Alberobello is famous for its trulli huts, white, circular stone farmhouses allegedly built in that way as to be easy to deconstruct when the tax collector arrived from Naples. A village with quiet charm, suffocated by the crowds. No street left empty, no building spared of souvenirs. All of this, still, during shoulder season.
It’s a pretty little place. Before tour buses, ten years ago – it must have been extra special to see it then.
